About the Curator
From a young age, Rainer W. Bock (Jerry) always knew what his lifetime's passion would be. As a child in post World War II Germany he recalls staring through antique shop windows, dreaming of someday owning a piece of our past. As a teenager his time had come to venture into Asia to discover new cultures and their artifacts. By his early twenties he was already involved in the art and antiquities business in Germany, specializing in Indian and Tibetan objects.
Today Mr. Bock feels as though he has fulfilled most of his dreams. Having lived and traveled for decades in Asia and co-existed with people the likes of Heinrich Harrer (known through the "7 years in Tibet" film), antiquities have been his life.
After being a part of the European auction business for many years and having traveled extensively throughout the world which allowed him to experience many different cultures and learn new languages, Mr. Bock continued the pursuit of his dreams by moving to the U.S.A.
He now owns the Splendors of the World gallery in Santa Fe and has made Hawaii his home.
The mission of our business is to share only the finest, most original and unique pieces with our customers so that they too can build collections of Museum quality artifacts.
